Genovax took part into a consortium which won the Piedmont regional call. In September 2008 Piedmont region published a call in the area of "Biotechnology for life sciences":

this call had the availability of 20 million euro, divided into four areas. One of them was immuno-oncology, and a consortium was formed headed by prof. Giorgio Inghirami from Torino, in which Genovax gave some scientific contribution with one project. The evaluation of all submitted proposals was completed in January 2009, and our consortium was the winner. This result will ensure access to research funds over the next three years. In particular, Genovax will get funds to better evaluate results from project GX301, which is moving as planned and soon will start recruiting patients in a Phase I study in renal and prostate cancer patients.
